AI, explained for the people who have to use it

What AI is, why it gets things confidently wrong, when it saves you real time, and when a person or a spreadsheet does the job better. No jargon, and nobody made to feel behind.

Host your own website, and stop renting one

Move off a monthly website builder to a site you own. What it really costs, how AI tools can build and update it for you, how to keep it secure, and how to make changes yourself without calling anyone.

A chatbot that talks like you, with care

An assistant that answers the questions you get every week in your own voice. The words it must never use, the moments it should stop, and how it hands over to a person when someone is upset or at risk.

Get found on Google and in AI answers

More and more people ask ChatGPT instead of searching. What to put on your website so they find you: plain facts, the questions people really ask, and the small files search engines and AI tools read.

Grant applications and donor updates, in your own voice

Use AI to draft funding applications, reports and thank-yous faster without them sounding generic. How to give it your past writing so it sounds like you, and what to always check before you send.

Your inbox, answered faster

Draft replies to the same ten questions you answer every week, in your voice, with a person always pressing send.

Keeping the people you serve safe when you use AI

What must never go into an AI tool, how to handle personal and sensitive information, and simple rules for staff and volunteers. Essential if you work with vulnerable people.

Formats

1-hour talk

Any one topic, explained

A plain-English introduction to one topic below, with plenty of time for questions. Virtual or in person.

3-hour workshop

Hands on, with your own work

One topic, worked through on your real tasks with me in the room. You leave with a written plan, or with the thing itself started.

Full day

Get it built

Two or three topics, or one done properly. A day is long enough to get a website or a chatbot most of the way there together.

Why

Because this is where I live.

I build AI for a living, and I am based in Culpeper County. Most of what I teach I learned the hard way, using AI in real businesses with real people on the other end.

Companies pay well to have AI explained to them. The food bank, the shelter and the two-person shop down the road need it just as much and cannot. The organisations that serve LGBTQ+ people, women and people without a home are usually the most stretched of all, so for them it is free.

Bloom Community AI is how that work reaches the places around me.

Questions

Before you ask.

Is there free or discounted AI training for charities and small businesses near Culpeper, Virginia or in DC?

Yes. Bloom Community AI, run by Isadora Martin-Dye of Isadora & Co, offers AI talks and workshops at about 80% off to charities and nonprofits within 60 miles of Culpeper, Virginia, or in Washington, DC, and to independent businesses there with fewer than 5 full-time employees: $500 for a one-hour talk, $1,000 for a 3-hour workshop and $2,000 for a full day.

Are there free AI workshops for LGBTQ+ organisations, women’s charities or homelessness charities?

Yes. LGBTQ+ organisations, women’s charities, homelessness charities and other charities supporting people who are too often left out, within 60 miles of Culpeper, Virginia, or in Washington, DC, get the 1-hour talk and the 3-hour workshop free. A full day is $2,000.

Can someone help our charity build its own website or a chatbot?

Yes. Hosting your own website and building a chatbot that speaks in your voice, with care for people in hard moments, are both workshop topics. A full day is usually long enough to get most of the way there together.

What topics can you cover?

AI basics for non-technical teams, hosting your own website, a chatbot that talks like you, getting found on Google and in AI answers, grant applications and donor updates, answering your inbox faster, and keeping the people you serve safe when you use AI.

Which towns are included?

Anywhere within 60 miles of Culpeper, Virginia, or in Washington, DC. That takes in Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Warrenton, Orange, Manassas, Front Royal, Harrisonburg, Winchester, Leesburg, Fairfax, Arlington and Alexandria, and everywhere in between.

We have never used AI. Is this for us?

Yes, that is exactly who it is for. Nobody needs a technical background, and the examples come from the work your organisation already does.

Can it be virtual?

The talk can be virtual or in person. Workshops are in person.

Why offer this?

This is where I live and work. The organisations that most need to understand AI are often the ones least able to pay for it, and the groups that serve people who are too often left out should not be the last to get help.

How do we ask?

Email info@isadoraandco.com with your organisation’s name, where you are based, what you do, and what you would like help with. For businesses, say how many full-time staff you have.
